Emma Lehman, Assistant Director of Events and Coach
Emma Lehman was raised in Harbeson, DE. During middle and high school, she participated in field hockey and lacrosse, but fell in love with field hockey. Emma was a well rounded player, but settled into a defensive player position in high school. In high school, she was a two-time Second Team All-Conference player, and secured First Team All-Conference her senior year. In addition, she racked Academic All-Conference, and during the semifinal game of the Division 2 State Tournament, the Crown Trophy Academic Award.
Emma made the decision to pursue her academic and athletic career at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. Playing in a competitive conference gave her many opportunities. As a freshman, Emma became a key player, starting in all 18 games her freshman year. She was able to continue her leadership and increase accolades through her sophomore year, where she was nominated as a Fan Favorite D3 Defensive Player for the 2023 season via The Field Hockey Analyst. Her defensive unit was also ranked 14th in Division 3 athletics for Least Defensive Penalty Corners Given Up.
Academically, Emma pursued a major in Psychology, and concentrations in Neuroscience and Practical Ethics. Her freshman year academic high standing earned her a spot on the NFHCA National Academic Squad for earning a 3.5 or higher GPA. She was awarded Dean’s List her Fall Semester of 2022 and Spring Semester of 2024. In addition, she demonstrated leadership through representing her team as a Student Athletic Advisory Committee representative for the 2023-2024 year. In the future, Emma plans to earn her PhD in Sports Performance Psychology.
Emma has found a love for coaching during her college career. When she is home from school, Emma is a guest coach for club, Shore Byrds Field Hockey. While at school, she travels with the High Voltage Field Hockey U14 club team. She is excited to continue her passion and love of field hockey and coaching through working with Total Game Evolution.
